Web Development — Accessibility (WCAG & EAA)

The Web Should Work for Everyone

We believe accessibility is a core design principle, not just a compliance exercise.

We build digital experiences that are genuinely inclusive and ensure they meet the legal requirements of WCAG 2.1 AA and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

Beyond the checkbox

Accessibility is often treated as a technical and legal requirement, rather than as an integral part of good design.

The result is websites that technically pass an audit but still exclude users with visual impairments, motor difficulties, cognitive differences or situational limitations.

That’s not our approach. We see accessibility as a genuine benefit, because inclusive design produces better websites for everyone. So we focus on clear navigation, clean structure, fast load times and a logical content hierarchy. Websites designed like this also reach a wider audience and rank better in search. And they reduce your legal exposure.

YOUR LEGAL OBLIGATION IN THE EU

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) has been in effect since 28th June, 2025

EAA compliance is mandatory for the websites of certain kinds of businesses, including those selling online in the EU. There is an exemption for companies with fewer than 10 employees or with an annual turnover of less than €2 million.

If your website isn't meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards, now is the time to act, before it becomes a legal issue rather than a design choice.

How we approach accessibility

We have a thorough, easy-to-understand process that leaves you confident in your website.

01
Accessibility audit

A full review of all your web pages and website-based interactions with visitors, measured against WCAG 2.1 AA and EN 301 549 standards.

02
Comprehensive action plan

A prioritised list of findings and fixes, clearly spelled out, no jargon. You'll know exactly what needs to change, why it matters and what to tackle first.

03
Implementation

We can fix the issues for you or work alongside your development team to implement them. This could be anything from colour contrast and website structure to keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility.

04
Ongoing guidance & support

Accessibility isn't a one-time fix. We provide ongoing assistance as your website evolves, making sure new content, features and pages meet the same accessibility standards throughout.

What you get

A clearer, more inclusive website, along with the confidence of knowing your website meets current legal requirements.

WCAG 2.1 AA audit

A full audit against the international standard for web accessibility.

EAA compliance review

Checked against EN 301 549, the EU standard underpinning the EAA.

Prioritised action plan

Clear, easy-to-understand fixes, ordered by impact and urgency.

Implementation support

Depending on your preference, we will fix the issues ourselves or guide your team through every change.

Keyboard & screen reader testing

Tested with real assistive technologies, not just automated tools.

Ongoing accessibility support

Guidance as your site evolves, so new content and features are accessible as well.

Let's make your website work for everyone

We'll audit your site and give you an honest picture of how well it complies with the standards and, if required, what needs to be done to make it compliant.
